Changes to Novalead Limited’s Sales Skill Sets Training Courses prompted by the ongoing response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Advances in technology and buyer preferences have been gradually changing the sales landscape since the turn of the century, at Novalead we have adapted our training to allow our clients to adapt to and take advantage of these changes predicted to happen to sales roles up to 2030.
The impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and subsequent lockdowns has accelerated these changes, where organisations should have had years to adapt to this paradigm shift the reality is the change is here now.
Below are three areas where we have been focusing on the development of our training courses and where we believe organisations should be prioritising their training budgets.
1. Business Owners/Directors. The #1 Responsibility of Business Owners is to promote/sell their companies products and services. As traditional sales roles are transformed by changing buyer preferences, technological advances and the so-called new normal it is now more imperative than ever that the business owners step forward and promote/sell their companies. It is no fluke that some of the most successful companies are run by owners with a sales or marketing background. Business owners from a technical, design or financial background find the sales leadership role much more challenging.
2. Salespeople. The 2020 lockdown has accelerated the changes that started in the mid-2000s with salespeople gradually losing their mantle as the main provider of product knowledge to the internet, buyers preference of doing their own research and avoiding the salesperson until they need pricing and terms were slowly changing the traditional sales role, the lockdown is now forcing a pivot into a new Remote sales role where face-to-face sales could be a thing of the past. Salespeople should focus on becoming experts in their industry and companies need to embrace these changes and leverage new practices and technologies to deliver an enhanced customer experience to build a loyal client base.
3. Customer-Facing Employees. Employees involved in roles not traditionally associated with sales now need to become more commercially aware. Selling in distributed cross-functional teams will be employed more and more in the future taking many employees way out of the comfort zone. Just as everyone in the business from the warehouse person to the CEO is responsible for Quality, everyone is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience, employees need to become advocates and ambassadors for their companies.
We believe a combination of targeted Sales Training (Sales Skill Sets) designed to increase revenue with Quality Training (Quality Through People) focusing your employees on reducing waste, in a learning experience designed specifically for your organisation providing the tools and strategies needed to survive and thrive in the new paradigm.
